Well what can i say about this years Prestwich Carnival, but wow!
This years annual Carnival was filled with fun, laughter, a weekend that my children will forever have etched in their minds.
Gleaming under the summer sun, St Marys park in Prestwich pulsed with energy, as the funfair was in full swing with an array of rides. The squeals coming from young children who were twirling on the teacups, and soared high on the Ferris wheel.

The smell of hot dogs mixed with cotton candy filled the air from the various food vendors that were dotted about the park.

Morris Dancers and other dance troops took to the courts to show us their moves over the weekend, in their vibrant dance attire.

Even the local doggies got to participate this year in the Prestwich Carnival dog show.
My kids darted about the rides and stalls as if they were in a candy shop, they darted about from the hook a duck stalls which drew the kids in with there expansive displays of teddy bears, to the dodgems, funhouse, house of mirrors, trampolines, inflatable slides and much much more.
Beyond the rides, a lively stage hosted a vibrant showcase of talent, with local dance troops, singers, artists, bands, children's entertainers who captivated the audience.
The true highlight of the weekend, was the Parade on the Sunday. A colourful spectacle where children dressed as their favourite characters, some in home made costumes, who marched alongside the brass band, local dance groups and floats.

Beaming with pride all children who took part got to get up on stage once they completed the route around Prestwich, to receive their medals and certificates.
Prestwich Carnival was a roaring success this year, largely thanks to the meticulous organisation behind the scenes. From the layout of the stalls to the flow of the pedestrian traffic , every small detail had been fine tuned and thoughtfully considered.
From the brightly coloured signage which indicated times and areas for different events taking place throughout the day, to different areas for different attractions.
Volunteers were super helpful and friendly, plentiful and identifiable in their hi viz jackets, ready to answer any questions you may have to guiding lost individuals.
With both police and medics/ambulance crew on sight, the whole event had every angle covered.
The smooth operation of the carnival was all down to the hard work and resilience of the organisation committee, making for a truly enjoyable experience for all.
